Having played there in 2004 we were not taken aback by the quality of the course. But we played several holes with an American fellow who had arrived on a cruise ship which was stopped in Saint Martin for the day. His choice of activity was golf or deep sea fishing. The prior day his ship had been in Saint Thomas (Virgin Islands) and he had played golf on a wonderfully green, lush course. He had expected the same in Saint Martin and felt ripped off - especially because with club and shoe rentals and power cart it cost him $148 U.S. to play. I sympathized with him. The course was not worth more than $25 to play. But there is only one course on the island and so you take what you can get. This is Francine hitting a good shot to the par three number four.
