It doesn't really matter what you do with your drive because you will be laying up to 100 yards on your second shot. This is because the green is completely guarded by a wide sand trap that winds across its front. There is no possibility of landing anything other than a nine iron or wedge on the green. Without the sand trap entirely guarding the green this would not be a bad par five. But with no possibility of going for it in two, the sensible play is just a fairway wood off the tee. Like some of the earlier holes it means that you are always playing a short iron into the green.
